In a modest garage on Remuera Road, Bruce McLaren’s remarkable journey began.

It was here, at his family’s service station and workshop, that a young Bruce developed his understanding of cars, engineering and performance – foundations that would eventually take him from Auckland to the international stage and establish one of the most recognised names in motorsport.

Today, Templeton Group is the custodian of this historic property.

We recognise that the significance of the McLaren Garage extends far beyond the building itself. It represents ingenuity, determination and the extraordinary story of a New Zealander whose influence continues around the world.

Our approach to the property is therefore one of respect and responsibility: to protect its history, acknowledge the McLaren family and ensure the story connected to this place is treated with the care it deserves.
